Butterfly Kisses
When I was 19, I always had in mind to only settle down when I’m in my 30′s. It is chiefly because that I wanted to relish my bachelorhood and the sense of freedom. I always felt (at that time) that I was never cut out to be a dad before I turned 30.
If I were to settle down, I hope that I have a daughter, though she’ll probably come of age to be the main grounds for my hemicranias in the later years, I think she’ll be worth the risk. Hehehe!
This song by Bob Carlisle, is the perfect song a dad can ever dedicate to his daughter. It always doesn’t fail to crank up my paternal instincts. LOL. Yes yes, I’m a hopeless dreamer. Enjoy the song.

I prefer “In My Daughter’s Eyes” by Martina McBride. The lyrics are so meaningful & the song + Martina’s voice is simply to die for.
Dan, if you want the mp3, let me know.
In my daughter’s eyes
I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter’s eyes
In my daughter’s eyes
Everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light
And the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter’s eyes
And when she wraps her hand around my finger
How it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
Is hanging on when your heart has had enough
Is giving more when you feel like giving up
I’ve seen the light
In my daughter’s eyes
In my daughter’s eyes
I can see the future
A reflection of who I am
And what will be
And though she’ll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I’m gone I hope you’ll see
How happy she made me
And I’ll be there
In my daughter’s eyes
haha when you are sitting you wish you could run, when you are running you just wish you were there sitting down …
wow..if i remember correctly, the song’s pretty old..maybe 7-8 years??
Jemima Shall download that song. But I’m talking about a song that a DAD would dedicate to his daughter.
earl-ku Only human….
tihtahpah Yup, circa 1996/97…
When I first heard it on the radio, a father requested the song for his daughter on the radio. When I the lyrics, my immediate thoughts were the father must love his daughter so very much.
Anyway, get married first & produce a daughter first, Dan. hehe
Sorry about the errors in my above comment, Dan. That teaches me to talk on the phone & type a comment at the same time. hehe
Jemima Yup, like I’ve said, I think this is the perfect song a father could ever dedicate to his daughter. Get married? *GULPS* Not yet. Don’t they have storks delivering babies anymore? LOL. Don’t worry about the commenting errors, it happens to all Man Utd fans.
dan, coincidentally…i wrote sometihng similar yesterday….
Dreams became reality sometimes. : ) Good song.
Butterfly kisses is a very lovely song. I watched this Sims movie/music video (made from the game of course) featuring this song. It showed a story abt how a father was feeling on his daughter’s wedding day. he recalls how she was like when she was a kid, slowly growing up to be a woman – soon to be handed to another man. It was a really touching video, and it always makes me cry
Yes, I know I’m crying to Sims movie for God’s sake, but yes.
yeah, like you i ain’t rushing into it. some things in life needs to take its time…slow and steady…
Aiyoh! Just when Keropok is not in town to defend us ManUtd fans.
Storks delivering babies? I’ve no idea, but when/if you find out.. do let us know. LOL.
Who knows? Maybe you’ll see them in Korea in Dec. LOL.
Btw, how’s the fasting going? Take care, Dan.
meekiee You did? Okay, shall check it out later…
Tina And why not?
I love this song, it makes me feel all fatherly inside…and no, I’m not taking about being a Priest. LOL
Sha It is isn’t it Sha? No idea what Sims is. But yeah, I can imagine being a dad about to give his daughter away, no thanks to this song…
Laksa Amen to that amigo. Let us all not bow down to the pressure of society.
Jemima I’ll keep a lookout for storks in Korea, though I don’t know how it will be able to fly through the snow. I can hardly wait to experience snow. Lame huh?
For the fasting, well, yesterday was perfect, didn’t consume anything whatsoever. Today, so far so good, but body’s been shivery in the last few hours. Trying not to think about sambal ikan bilis. Hahahaha!
mmm….tears rolling off when listening to Butterfly Kisses. I am sorry I had take the entry out but I have kept it somewhere if you wish to read. Vicky
meekiee It’s a tearjerker indeed. Just contact me via Friendster if you need a shoulder to cry on…*hugs*
Mu fans can read and write?? Never (I think Keropok is a closet Newcastle fan and just pretend he a Manc). And do not rush into marriage. Coz then you aghve to ask permission to watch the footy!
Mr D That explains his bitter backbiting comment the other day. Should’ve known, the signs were obvious that he’s a Geordie. LOL. Marriage is the LAST thing ANYONE should ever rush into. As for the footy permission, shall insert it into the prenupt. Haha!
daniel.. u were tagged by me..
check out my latest entry… thanks :p
Yeah as long as your daughter doesn’t turn out like me at a young influence… bad influence… my dad and I have long not-so-important talks in the morning on the way to college and often we don’t agree on each other.
*young age i meant
cely Alamak…die la…I have loads of songs to choose from…but I’ll try…Can it be 70 songs instead ah?
Lex Well, it doesn’t matter how my daughter turn out, as long as we love each other, as idealistic as sounds….
Geee…quick update ur blog. I dont want to keep tearing when listening to this song and imagining the father of my kids. How sweet if one day u walk ur daughter on the aisle and hand her over to my son, the groom. :p
yeah, its something else to be a parent. i have my proud moments, but it is scary too bcoz suddenly there’s this little person looking up to you for directions. and also bcoz you’re just really as clueless as they are. LOL!
meekiee Yes, I hope to live that long.
Larawannabe Thanks for the heads up, I’ll make sure to read a lot of maps by then.
dan, of course you will!
whaa future planing already? fuuuii yoohh.. then my kid can be the flower girls and the ring bearer hehehe

Lex No la…not planning….just woolgathering….
