Malaysia 52 Years Later – A Democratic Police State?
Is Malaysia really a democratic country or it’s just a front to its tyrannic control? What control? Well, let’s begin with subduing public opinion, withholding information and misguiding the public with propaganda?
What else? What about vote fraud? If you read and follow alternative news media, you will come to actualize that votes are deceitfully counted. And YET, they still lose the election. Hmm. Thanks to money politics, a simple majority gives them the power to remain in control.
What about undue influence on the law of the land? Preventing parties from challenging the government, sweeping dodgy cases under the rag hoping the public will forget and move on by assuring them tax refunds for automobiles – all RM625 of it.
What about bossism of certain ministers, in this case the Home Minister, who just loves to throw people for fun under the I.S.A. Remember Teresa Kok?
What about the police? Are they “protecting” us or are they just licensed hoodlums? Remember Kugan? What’s the delay there? 11 policemen were involved and now they are trying to find Indian policemen to take the blame as to cushion the racial impact?
What about the suppression of whistleblowers? Remember we had a number of high profile witnesses “disappeared” or retracting testimonies.
What about the lack of internal checks and balances? Allowing people like Azalina to bamboozle funds and destruct Malaysian sports for money? MACC is just a front by the government to mislead us? Will she be charged?
What about a certain class of officials who seem above the law? Dismissal of charges for wrong doing because these people “followed” orders?
Don’t get me started with Khir Toyo and his antics.
Why are we going backwards mentally? Simple, money-grabbing politicians that only want to serve their self-interest.
I hope that more Malaysians come out to vote at the next general elections. If you’re not registered yet, please do so. It’s your country, so don’t just bitch and moan about the fucked up things that has blighted the country, do something about it by voting. Don’t be silly to think that you can’t make a difference, you can.
Selamat Hari Merdeka.

love this post man…. love it!
i told myself not to blog anything about this country this merdeka day, u might have just changed my mind there.
Yupe! It is time for us to do something for Malaysia!
I’m a government slave. how la?
I agree with Gallivanter, if you haven’t registered yet, then don’t wait, go now cos you only have yourself to blame if we can’t get this country back on track.
You most definitely CAN make a difference!
‘subduing public opinion, withholding information and misguiding the public with propaganda’
I do believe in democracy. However, a certain form of regulation must exist in order to regulate those who abuse such power (One must be responsible in using their freedom) But then, there are also those who abuse the power of regulating those who abuse the power.
Well, there are certain issues that shows how inappropriate, childish and irresponsible certain Malaysians are. Those issues we are all aware off. Instead of chastising, one must do something about it, accordingly, true.
However, let’s not be lopsided, bitter and too pessimistic. There are a lot of good things too. Plus, looking at things on the bright side can help in taking care of the things that we don’t like. Happy Independance Day.
I have a new outlook at the Malaysian political scene:
It’s basically a cinema, where a revamped 80′s movie is brought over to the 21st century with a couple bells and whistles. You see the introduction of new and different actors… the reviews and previews are great! But when you eventually watch the movie in the cinema, you can’t help but notice that its just another “Hollywood” movie just like the last one back in the 80′s – story and plot? same old, same old…
I guess it’s a matter of voting whoever we seem to have faith in, until one really does uphold his promises… in a way that the people will heartily agree to…
Merdeka Day! September 16th!
Yes. There are a lot of things that Malaysia, and the leaders that helm it can do a lot better. But, there are positives to take pride in as well.
But, I agree. Stop the talking and do the walking. Each of us can make the difference.
Who say we are living in peace? what do government know about peace?huh…they like to talk..talk.and talk like a dog barking on the wall..its true together we can make a different..
**difference
On this Merdeka Day, I take the opportunity to invite Tun Ahmed Badawi to be the Irish Prime Minister.
Greetings Tun Badawi.
Sorry for disturbing your retirement.
Ireland faces its greatest economic crisis since Independence. In desperation, I feel obliged as an Irish citizen to invite you to be Irelands new Prime Minister.
I am rather concerned at the antics of the Irish cabinet, who appear to be more interested in the drinks cabinet, rather than the mundane affairs of state. The country is being run by a bunch of drunks, so I felt responsible to get someone as sober as you.
Even though affairs of state are boring, and make me sleepy also, it is safer that these are in the hands of someone sleeping. Someone drunk is more dangerous. At least we can park the economy at the side of the road and dream that it is working, rather than being drunk and crashing it at full speed into a ditch.
In order to assist in our economic recovery, Ireland would do well to adopt many of your policies in terms of handling alcoholism with a 50% tax increase, although that won’t do much to get the cabinet off the booze. Some steps in dealing with opposition would be nice also, but we might need to tell the European Union to go to hell, but only Mahathir can do that lah.
Anyway, happy Merdeka day. Irelands economy is also in the “Merde”. I think I’ll stay here for the recession, if you let me.
Regards
Diarmuid
IF the world’s a stage and we are the actors, Msian politicians are the oscar and BAFTA winners with them being followers of the Idiot’s effigy.
This year merdeka is very mundane. Me myself feel very unpatriotic after looking at all the bull**** that happens everyday.
“Rakyat didahulukan” my a**
Thanks for your various thoughts. It’s now up to us to do something. Please at least ensure that you’re a registered voter come next elections.
