Relationship & Money
One of the main reasons why couples argues is finances. Am I right? If you’re living together, it’s time to look into financial savings, as it could have a profound effect on your relationship. Sit down and work a budget together, and be upfront to each other about this as it’s a highly sensitive issue.
Oooh, thin ice this one. I have a simple rule: My money, is my money. Your money is our money.
Haha kidding, kidding. Seriously though, this day in age it’s vital that a woman has her own finances. Call me jaded but my daddy taught me that at the end of the day, you should be able to fend for yourself – man or no man. On the relationship side, I agree couples should discuss money matters before moving in together/settling down. If one party think RM1.00 is spare change and the other thinks it’s one step to making your first million…There’s an obvious conflict of mindsets here.
These are times when the guy and gal makes almost the same, then I think that all necessities like rent, utilties and holidays out to be split down the middle. Anything else like the plasma TV, the new flat panel screen PC, the OSIM chair…. you want it, you pay for it
Nope, money has never been an issue with me and Lex. Whether or not we have enough, it has never been an issue at all.

W: Okay.
Mrs W: Your money is our money.
W: Okay.
Mrs W: I guess that settles it?
W: I supposed so. I have a feeling I have just being had but I don’t know why.

Yozoronitesky Yeah, splitting down the middle works too, or you can combine the income power and then proportion the salary with the rental/utilities. But yeah, that works.

Wombat Hmmm, sounds extremely familiar. LOL. I had a drama relationship a few years back that had a similar conversation. I can’t even buy a mug of beer for myself!
set a joint account to pay for all utilities, and the rest of it, you get to keep it yourself…
Oh yeah, sitting down & work out a budget together does help. At least it makes us understand what we can & can’t have/do/want at the moment. So financial issues/arguement are almost zero.
clement Joint account’s dodgy, based on my experience. Unless you’re married, this is NOT the right way forward. Just like joint ownership of a home.

Definitely true, Sir. Nowadays money is Vital. Although Money is NOT EVERYTHING, but Money CAN DO many things!
Yes, having a budget (and sticking to it) is very important. Luckily for us, it’s so-far-so-good. We’re able to stick to the budget..
