What’s the WORST Digital Donts in a Relationship?
What would be the worst don’t to do online when you’re in a relationship? These are some of my thoughts.
1. Fighting on Facebook
I’ve seen it happen, more indirectly than confrontational. The status updates usually gives it away, and most of the time, it’s usually the women who do that as men are known not to share their dirty laundry in public. Women on the other hand, seek for empathy unashamedly. I think it’s foolish because it will not only embarrass your relationship, but also leave your friends feeling very awkward.
2. Breaking Up by Text Message
I’ve read this a couple of times through the mainstream media, some couple declaring their breakup or divorce through text. For fuck’s sake, both of you have been together for so long don’t you think your other half deserve the respect. Why be a chicken and just text? That’s not closure, just pussy acting. If you wanna break up, do it the right way, face to face. Your other half deserves at least that.
3. Texting on a Date
Sure, the odd text message or two, although not encouraged, is something possibly unavoidable as we humans have made this a habit. Try not to text unless important. If a text comes in, don’t reply until later if you know it’s not a matter of life or death.
4. Blogging about Your Relationship
Again, comes down to point 1, sharing your dirty laundry for the world to see. A relationship deserves the respect of privacy. If you wanna blog about your relationship, instead of coming off as a bitchy post or just pure vendetta, try to find a resolution to it as well. Remember, it could be fine and dandy when you’re pissed, but you’ll regret it later – definitely.
5. Reading Your Other Half’s E-Mails
Well, maybe it’s not so much these days now that social platforms like Facebook dominate internet time. Still, a level of trust is needed. If you check everyday, what’s the point being in a relationship where you don’t trust your other half? Why are in you one anyway, because you’re afraid to be alone? If yes, then that’s a stupid excuse, you don’t deserve to live. Give your significant other the time and space to be alone – all of us need our alone time. If your other half’s cheating, it won’t be long before the shit floats. And believe me, lies will always float.
6. Misrepresenting Yourself Online
I’ve seen this happen before. Some people put on an act to impress the other, and then find it difficult to return to the usual self. Why lie? Are you not confident that the other person may not like things about you? So you plan to live your life as a people pleaser and suppress your own wants and personality? If the other person don’t like some things about you, you can tell the other person to go fly a kite because you are a package – all the good and bad rolled in one, and there are many other fishes in the sea. Just be true to yourself.
What else have I missed?

These are so true!
Right. n right. n right again.
This one’s the best.
“If the other person don’t like some things about you, you can tell the other person to go fly a kite because you are a package – all the good and bad rolled in one, and there are many other fishes in the sea. Just be true to yourself.”
