Scorpions – Wind of Change (Crazy World 1990)
It’s my favorite Scorpions track. I remember going crazy about this tune, and put it on constant rewind back in 1991. Although the track was released in 1990, it didn’t become huge until a year later. I can say we need something similar for Malaysia, a wind of change. I remember plucking this tune (note by note) when I started learning playing the guitar. This was my first rock song attempt, until I got better and started jamming to Bon Jovi.

Scorpions – Wind of Change
[ad]
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

dan, i prefer under the same sun ka the title lols
They were such a rocking band! This song is an absolute classic.
I never feel bored with Scorpions tune before until Francs Bucholz (Bass) and Herman Rarebell (Drums) stepped away from the band. I still buy their CD’s , and my favourites will be Love Drive, Blackout, Savage Amusement and Crazy world. This song proves themselves as the King Of Ballad Rock. And this song became a memorable tune for the fall-down of communist era in Russia (Soviet Union)
definitely a favourite! a must for a karaoke moment!
My ALL time favourite band. I liked them before, I like them now! Gosh, I like all their songs and “Always Somewhere” ALWAYS catapults me back to college days – cheh! hehe!
bennyliew.com – That song’s not bad either.
Rozella – A classic indeed!
Aj – Cool. I’ve been lucky to see them LIVE in KL back in 1995, or was it 1996? LOL.
tihtahpah – Yeah, though karaoke kills the spirit of this song.
Tigerlily – Really? All-time? Wowee! So I’m guessing you’ve seen them LIVE in concert?
A good song, and a good album (the production is top notch). WHen this song came out, I was at the height of my “the heavier the better” phase, so I digged other songs in the album better like, Kicks After Six and Hit Between The Eyes.
Still, I think Scorpions can write a rock ballad as well as anybody, perhaps even better than Firehouse and X-Japan.
Among the first rock songs I learnt on the guitar was “Always Somewhere”: among the greatest rock ballads ever committed to vinyl (as Kerrang! liked to say it).
ben – I agree, Scorpions do write better tunes than Firehouse.
