The Best of Gersang & Manbai
I was influenced by Malay music when I was 11 years old, travelling to my primary school in KL from my home via public transport. Though I remember a number of songs that were highly annoying, but Gersang was one of the bands that stood out for me. I would like to share 3 songs from Gersang and of course, THAT song by their ex-lead singer, Manbai.

Suratan Takdir
Kau Ilhamku

love this band last time..manbai one of the great singer during that time..sayang his kerongkong kena bedah….for years he stopped singing then came back with another great song…”kau ilham ku”.hehe..
I think Suratan Takdir is an excellent song too
Actually the Malay singers/bands of yesteryear are SO MUCH better than the current ones.
hello..coming by to visit today..
i laugh at their band name.. GERSANG..LOL
I too, growing up listening to Gersang songs. Masih aku terasa and Suratan Takdir was my favorites numbers back then… Stll remember when i was in primary school, we used to sing these two songs together, while going back home… Jalan kaki ah, kena tinggal bas because of meng’usha’ girl… Hahaha… That was the great time…
Kau Ilhamku was another song that has became instant evergreen hits. Still remember how my friends used to practise that song over and over again using a gitar kapok just to play in a school camp, with one simple mission. To impress girls… And he did… Hahaha
Without a doubt, Masih Aku Terasa and Suratan Takdir are total classics, right up there with the greatest songs ever by Malaysia. If not mistaken, Kau Ilhamku was written by Sabah’s very own songwriter extraordinaire, Asmin Mudin a.k.a Umbut
