iTalk Buddy Instant Messenger
At 27.9mb, it better be worth the download. That’s what I said to myself as I watch the iTalk Buddy Instant Messenger being saved on my computer. What in devil’s name is iTalk Buddy, if not just another messenger service?
That’s when my doubts were answered, this gizmo is not internet dependent! Shocked? This baby can function without the need to be connected to the internet. It seeks other users, connect to them via offline mode. Gasp! What’s more, these guys managed to build a VPN protection on data to ensure security, with messages not kept on any server whatsoever. So, your chat about your mother-in-law is in safe hands.
If you want to enjoy internet connection even though you’re offline, just get into www.italkbuddy.com.my and you’re on your way to surfing anytime anywhere. As for the website, it is still in the early stages, with a host of features are in the pipeline.
The installation was simple, you only need to enter your name (and company too – they should make this optional). Halfway through the installation, another installation took place in the form of Microsoft XML 6.0, and also updated some files on my Windows XP operating system.

The interface looks pretty decent, though I’m not too fond of the color pink. I’ve tried adding a bunch of other unknown contacts as I managed to look them up. But, I guess I was not added simply because I was an unknown entity to them. Overall, I like the simplicity of the application, and how I was able to connect through a few applications without the need to be online. Check it out @ www.italkbuddy.com.my.
