Lifehouse – Smoke & Mirrors (Album Review)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 18. Feb, 2010 | 6 Comments
Lifehouse has scored a few big numbers in the past, with the lead singer’s unique vocals, the songs were even more memorable. I love songs like “You & Me”, “Blind”, “Come Back Down” and “Storm” – all classic tracks. Now these fellas return with a new album, and I must say that I’m slightly disappointed. [...]
The Best of Gersang & Manbai

I was influenced by Malay music when I was 11 years old, travelling to my primary school in KL from my home via public transport. Though I remember a number of songs that were highly annoying, but Gersang was one of the bands that stood out for me. I would like to share 3 songs [...]
Adelitas Way – Last Stand (Song Review)

The lead singer sounds very similar to Daughtry, and I’m not sure if that’s a compliment. Haha! Anyway, they managed to pull off a decent rock ballad, though some parts sounds a little formulaic. However, it’s good enough to please you rockers.

Theory of a Deadman – Hate My Life

The lead singer of this band has a kickass voice! Their latest album, “Scars & Souvenirs”, released last April, yielded my favorite song from them, “Not Meant to Be”, and another favorite, “Bad Girlfriend”.
This song encapsulates the feeling of hating one’s life. However, it tells us, that no matter how bad their own life is [...]
Hinder – Take Me Home Tonight (Extreme Behavior 2005)

It was originally sung by Eddie Money in 1986, Hinder covers this tune as one of their bonus tracks on their debut album a few years ago. Their version of Bon Jovi’s Bed of Roses, is nowhere near the original that Bon Jovi delivers with full of verve.
This cover however, gives Eddie Money a run [...]
Nickelback – Gotta be Somebody (Dark Horse)

This is the first official single taken off Nickelback’s latest album, Dark Horse, which is due to be released in November. The song is about searching for the right person to spend the rest of your life with, and deals with the fear of wondering if you may ever find that person.
The lead singer still looks [...]
Hinder – Without You (Take it to the Limit)

This is classic! A classic rock ballad. I love Hinder, and this is a song that perfectly flaunts the lead’s singer’s prowess. Though parts of the chorus sometime sounds like some other tune. Nevertheless it’s a magnificent tune. It may not come close to “Lips of an Angel” in terms of individualism, but take nothing away from it.
Highly recommended to [...]
Third Day – Born Again

Third Day’s 9th studio album (I never knew they existed THAT long!) was released at the end of last month. I checked out the album over last weekend, which has a tinge of Southern Rock. The album, has Daughtry on it as guest appearance in one of the songs, but nothing can beat this tune, [...]
Simple Plan – I Can Wait Forever

I scorned this band for as long as I can remember. The singer has one of those voices that you feel like cramping him and tell him to get a real job. However, my discernment towards these wankers have changed a little with their latest album. I wasn’t enormously in love with “Your Love Is [...]
