Nickelback – Never Gonna be Alone (Dark Horse)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 22. Nov, 2008 | 3 Comments
I enjoyed listening to Nickelback’s latest album. I was never overwhelmed by them previously, though I have songs like “Far Away”, “Photograph” in my list of collections. Now, thanks to this album, I have added another 3 tracks, “Gotta be Somebody”, “I’d Come for You”, and this ballad, “Never Gonna be Alone”. While their album [...]
Chris Cornell – Scream

Even Chris Cornell has caught the Timbaland fever! I was surprisingly pleased with the combination of the two of them. Though, I think it would’ve been a super song for a NEW artist like David Cook instead of someone who is as seasoned as Chris Cornell. From Soundgarden to Audioslave to going solo. I loved [...]
Hinder – Without You (Take it to the Limit)

This is classic! A classic rock ballad. I love Hinder, and this is a song that perfectly flaunts the lead’s singer’s prowess. Though parts of the chorus sometime sounds like some other tune. Nevertheless it’s a magnificent tune. It may not come close to “Lips of an Angel” in terms of individualism, but take nothing away from it.
Highly recommended to [...]
Staind – All I Want (The Illusion of Progress)

My favorite song from Staind is their 2003 hit, “So Far Away”. I didn’t really like their 2005 effort, and now their back with their latest album, “The Illusion of Progress”. It’s not a bad effort at all. 2 songs stood out for me, “This is it” and this track, “All I Want”. It’s more [...]
Sarah Connor – Under My Skin (Sexy as Hell)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 20. Sep, 2008 | 2 Comments
Firstly, I didn’t know that a name like Sarah Connor is something of a norm in Germany. She’s from Deutschland, probably real name Helga Zisswienerizgood, grew up loving the movie Terminator that she adopted that name. I have this song with me for the last couple of weeks now, and was caught between this tune [...]
Shwayze – Corona & Lime
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 07. Sep, 2008 | 2 Comments
This is an easy tune to listen to, especially lazying on a Sunday having a Corona. Not that I’m a fan of Corona & Lime, I’ve always fancied Guinness Stout & Kilkenny, and the other beers are just waste of time. Shwayze comes up with a catchy tune, and I dig it.
Shwayze – Corona & [...]
Brandy – Right Here (Departed) (Human)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 07. Sep, 2008 | 5 Comments
Personally, I dislike Brandy, I just find her overrated, as with Monica too. Useless. However, I have to admit, that I kinda like her latest single, “Right Here (Departed)”. It depicts about a woman’s talk about mutual support with her loved ones.
This is Brandy’s first released in 4 years, so, I’ll be keeping an eye [...]
LL Cool J feat Richie Sambora – Baby (Rock Remix)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 31. Aug, 2008 | Comments Off
I liked LL Cool J’s original collaboration of his new single, Baby, with The Dream, though the chorus is repeated to infinity. But it’s typical LL Cool J. I was surfing through the net and stumbled upon the rock version of the same song, with Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi, lending his talk-box vocals and [...]
David Archuleta – Crush
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 31. Aug, 2008 | Comments Off
It’s not too bad, though it’s nothing great, the melody should be good enough to pacify you David Archuleta fans. This is a type of song that’s really suited for Archuleta, bubble-gum pop, with pleasant congruities. He has always played second fiddle to the brilliant David Cook in American Idol, but it looks like he [...]
New Kids on the Block – 2 in the Morning (The Block – Album Review)

“Summertime”, NKOTB’s first single off their new album, released in May 2008, is a track that grows on you. Believe it or not there is a whopping 17 songs from the new album, “The Block” which is due to be released soon. I managed to listen to the whole album, and a few songs kinda [...]
