JLS – Mary (Song Review)

It sounds like a “slow” version of that Vengaboys song, I forgot the title of it. See if you can catch the same tone, especially in the chorus. Also, see if you can hear a little of “Come on Eileen” in there too. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty decent song by this boyband called JLS.

Erik Hassle – Isn’t It Obvious (Song Review)

This dude’s not bad. I think this is his crème de la crème song off his album. Overall, there’s nothing fractious about this effort as there isn’t any bombastic deliverance which will appeal to pop alternative lovers out there. However, you can take my advice as I say that this is the best track.

J Brazil – Girl I’m Tryin’ (Song Review)

This track heavily borrows that famous Cyndi Lauper song, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, and delivers a very decent rendition that makes it accessible to the current music generation. The dude looks a little scary in the sense of an 80s geek throwback. Haha! Other than that, this song is recommended.

We are the World 25 for Haiti (Song Review)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 15. Feb, 2010 | 5 Comments
This song will surely eclipse Simon Cowell’s Everybody Hurts (Haiti) single, because that REM song is too bloody depressing that it’s morbid. “We are the World”, written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, is in a class of its own.
Here’s the lineup to the remake:
Conductors: Quincy Jones & Lionel Richie
Verses: Justin Bieber, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer [...]
Wayne Jackson – Hallelujah (Song Review)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 14. Feb, 2010 | 2 Comments
I love the chorus, and it is Wayne Jackson’s best song from his latest album, by a freaking mile! This is an English dude living in Germany and by the looks of things, has not really broken through any charts worldwide. Despite the billet-doux chorus, he will find it tough, especially in a world of [...]
Jason Derulo – Blind (Song Review)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 14. Feb, 2010 | 2 Comments
Jason Derulo’s “What’cha Say” is way overrated because he has BETTER songs than that one, but I guess that’s how crummy radio stations can make a song a hit, as it’s blur followers would just listen to any garbage, thinking it’s the best thing since sliced bread. While this track is not wonderfully unique, it [...]
Fair – Take Some Risks (Song Review)

I love the chorus as its haunting delivery perfectly captures the song, though I felt that the band should’ve thought a better song name instead something as bland as “Take Some Risks”, maybe “Everyone” or “Surrounding Me”. Whatever it is, I think this song is pretty good.

Christina Milian – Kiss It (Song Review)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 07. Feb, 2010 | 0 Comments
This is some elements that made 60s love songs a big hit. Christina Milian re-uses that formula but does not overkill it. While she will find it difficult to upstage her big hit, “AM to PM”, this is a pretty cool song. I think this will go down well with the ladies.

Destine – Lightspeed (Album Review)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 06. Feb, 2010 | 0 Comments
I like 5 songs from the album, with 3 in particular. If you’re into pop-punk sounding music, than you might dig this one. These dudes are from Holland, which is a surprise because they sound like a cross between Fall Out Boy, Paramore and Simple Plan. Some of the tracks here are pretty aubade, nice [...]
Enrique Iglesias – Alive (Song Review)
Posted by Gallivanter in Music Reviews on 05. Feb, 2010 | 0 Comments
Damn! I actually like this song, and I’m not a fan of the dramatic Enrique! I like being surprised with tunes like this and it is very welcoming as opposed to his previous work that he has spewed to the music world. Although this song is not gonna blaze any charts, but it’s certainly has [...]
